The Anchor Brewhouse was a small brewery bought in December 1787. The building still stands, although it has not been a brewery for a long time: The Boilerhouse, Brewhouse and Malt Mill still show the different functions in the process of beer making (see the Chimney above your balcony from the Boiler House) The building was restored and reconstructed in 1985-1989 and converted into luxury residential flats. It is now a Grade II listed building situated in the Conservation Area in Butlers Wharf. The anchor tap pub that was the brewery tap is still open nearby.

When London was a busy port, this was a major warehouse storage area, and the buildings (now most apartments and restaurants) are protected which means they can't be altered or knocked down so they all keep their original signs and character (Cinnamon Wharf etc) the streets are cobbled and steeped in history. It is a very desirable area because of the 360 degree views of London ! Everyone wants to be here ! Do not miss this opportunity ! But don't take my word for it...Put Shad Thames in any search engine and be amazed !
