Area

Located in the wonderful historic area of Shad Thames. A short walk along the River will bring you to The Tower of London and The Tower Bridge. If you continue your walk along the River, which I would strongly recommend, you will find many hidden gems, plus all of the below sites.

Transport:

Bermondsey Tube (Jubilee Line) is a 15 minute walk.
Tower Hill Tube (Circle and District) is a 25 minute walk (6 stops to The "West End"/Piccadilly Circus etc)
Bus: One of few exsisting old fashoned red buses with the platform at the back to jump on, leaves from infront of The Tower and takes 30 minutes to "The West End"
Boat:  A commuter boat  leaves the Tower every 15 minutes and takes 20 minutes to "The West End"


The Apartment

As you enter the Apartment we have a beautiful specially commissioned sculture of The Tower Bridge. In the same hallway, we have plenty of maps and literature on the area. At the end of the hallway you will come directly into the living room.






                                   




The Living Area


We have wooden floors in all of the rooms except the bedroom that has carpet. The living area has a specially commissioned wall mural of the London Underground  and guests have found this a great help. Also a flat screen TV and DVD with a collection of just released films (Avatar, Slumdog etc) Wii Console and Wii CD's . We also have an assortment of games and toys for children.
There are also many new London Quiz Board games. Time Out Guides (1000 things to do when in London) plus the childrens version are available. Local area maps and West End maps are provided.

The sofa can be converted into a bed at night time.  This is continental kingsize (160) and by simply rotating the back, the sofa turns into a comfortable bed with memory foam matress.



    

The tube mural  will be very useful for you. Many guests have commented that it was helpful when planning their day.       
The sofa bed above is incredibly comfortable.  Most  sofa beds that are bought on the high street are built for the purpose of occassional guests. As our apartment will be used by people each night, we decided to invest in a more specialised one. It was imported from Milan, with a memory foam matress that most people comment is more comfortable than thier own bed!  The guests sleeping here will also receive the same quality bed linen as found in the bedroom, all 100% egyptian cotton.

Bathroom

The bathroom has a bath with shower and shower glass screen, plus a heated towel rail.  All towels are 100% Egyptian cotton.
The shower has three settings, normal, massage and power. We have also supplied a first aid kit and shoe cleaning kit. Upon arrival you will have shampoo, conditioner, liquid hand soap and body wash/gel. A shaving adapter, hair dryer and weighing scales are also provided.

Bedroom

King Size Bed (160) with memory foam matress The wall map will be invaluable when planning your journeys. You can lie back at night and see where you travelled that day and this gives you a much better sense of your bearing when in London. It is made with a protective coat, with the understanding that people will want to point and plan their route, so fingerprints will be eaily washed away.
A portable telephone is also provided  in the bedroom as well as the living room. A clock radio is also provided. In case you forget th classic things to pack.....we also provide a plug adapter and a spare nokia phone charger.


    

Additional Beds

We have 2 quality chair beds,  as our family visitors have often requested that their children would like to sleep separate, therefore we provide a sofa bed plus 2 chair beds. They measure 80 x 200. There is one in the living room and one in the bedroom, but they can be moved easily.
Again, these are not the cheap foam foldaway beds that are often offered by landlords - but comfortable purpose made guest beds with memory foam matresses.

            



Facilities

Dishwasher (with tablets) Washing Machine/ Dryer (detergent supplied) Toaster, Kettle, Expresso and Cappuccino maker. Oven with 4 hobs and grill and extractor fan. A microwave and coffee maker are also provided. The cuboards light from the inside for softer lighting in the evening.
All cutlery and plates are provided, and we have some cutlery for younger children with Disney designs. A high chair and cot are also stored in the Apartment. The kitchen is also provided with kitchen roll and serviettes, plus bing bags etc.  Milk and tea and coffee will be provided for each new guest.
